As many of our Seniors reach old age , it is natural that we tend to feel unhappy and demoralized-health wise and security wise owing to diminishing importance given to them and opinion of the younger generation in society. In this context. any effort we take collectively and in cooperative manner to improve our own individual financial position will undoubtedly alleviate our anxiety and instil peace of mind. Many of them suffer from loneliness, senior abuse and up in n home care
The objective of the Association is well presented in our constitution , as a result of our inter-action with the officials of the Ontario Minister of Government services as two components- One is to establish a fund exclusive by our own members, which can yield a substantial amount of money at the time of our demise and-second to render humanitarian assistance, inclusive of monetary awards to those of us who are unfortunate to suffer of critical illness and those who have to reside in long term care homes with severe disabilities. This orgamisation was first registered as an N.P.O. in the year 2012 base on ta smia Tamil benevolent otganzton in Sydney Australia
Admission to the association is limited to paid up members of the Senior Tamil Society of Peel who are between fifty (60) to eighty five (80) years of age and and are free of any terminal illness at the time of admission . Initial at the time of establishment of P.S.T.B.A. they should continue to to be members of Senior Tamils Society of Peel to benefit from the death donation scheme and be eligible for distress reliefs. Admission fee is $20 and to be eligible for death donation, a monthly contribution of $20 per month for one year, or full payment of 340 dollars beginning from the month of joining the benevolent association will apply. Persons admitted into the scheme will be considered provisional members during this one year period. The total of $240 could be paid as a lump sum, but the person will have to wait the one year period to become an accredited member and be eligible for the death donation.
On the demise of a member, every other member in the scheme should pay into the fund $20 on request, in order to replenish the fund. Failure to complete the twelve months contribution during the stipulated period or who fail to respond to death call or those persons discontinuing membership in the S.T.S.P. or P.S.T.B.A. will lose whatever contribution they have made to P.S.T.B.A. Persons in the death donation scheme will appoint two nominees at the time of joining who will receive the donation on a matter of priority.
The quantum of Death Donation payable.
The nominee gets 85% of the amount calculated by multiplying the number of members by $20. The balance 15% is retained by the association for administrative expenses. For example - if there are 100 members, at the rate of $20 for one year period, the nominee will receive $1500. If there are 200 members the nominee will receive $3000. It can be seen if members in the scheme are more, the amount of donation the nominee will receive will proportionally be more.

எதற்காக சங்கத்தின் பெயர் PSTBA இல் இருந்து OSTBA மாற்றப் பட்டது?
2012 ஆண்டு இந்த அமைப்பு ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்டபோது சங்கம் பீல்(PEEL) பிராந்தியத்தில் மட்டுமே இருந்தது. ஆனால் காலப் போக்கில் ஒன்ராறியோ மாகாணத்தில் உள்ள முது தமிழர் சங்க உறுப்பினர்களுக்கும் இந்த சேவையை விரிவுபடுத்தும் நோக்கத்தோடு. உறுப்பினர்களின் ஒப்புதலுடன் பெயர்(PSTBA) என்பதிலிருந்து (OSTBA) என மாற்றப்பட்டு, ஒன்ராறியோவில் ஆதாயமற்ற சங்கமாக ஆரம்பத்தில் பதிவு செய்த வணிக எண்ணுடன் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டது. இதுவரை 7 ஆண்டுகளில், இந்த அமைப்பு 29 மறைந்த உறுப்பினர்களின் வாரிசுகளுக்கு சுமார் 90,000 கனேடிய டாலர்களைச் செலுத்தியது.
OSTBA என்ற நலன்புரி சங்கத்தைப் பரிபாலனம் செய்பவர்கள் யார் ?
சங்க சாசனத்தின் படி OSTBA சங்கத்தின் முகாமைத்துவ அறங்காவலர்கள் எட்டு அங்கத்தினர் குழுவினைக் கொண்டது. இக்குழுவின் தலைவர், உபதலைவர், செயலாளர், மேலதிகசெயலாளர், உபசெயலாளர், தனாதிகாரி, உபதனாதிகாரி தொழில் நுட்பபொறுப்பாளர் ஆகிய எட்டு பொறுப்பாளர்கள் இரு வருடங்களுக்கு ஒரு தடவை பொதுஅங்கத்தவர்கள் சபையிலிருந்து தெரிவுசெய்யப்படுவர். இவர்கள் இரு வருடத்திற்கு முகாமைத்துவம் செய்வார்கள். அங்கத்தினர் பொதுக் கூட்டம் வருடா வருடம் சாசனத்தின் படி இடம் பெறும். தணிக்கை செய்யப்பட்ட வருடாந்த கணக்கு சமர்பிக்கப் படும்
யார் OSTBA என்ற இச்சங்கத்தில் அங்கத்தினராகச் சேர முடியும்?
(60) வயதும் அதற்கு மேற்பட்டவர்களும், 80 வயதுக்கு உட்பட்டவர்களும், “ஒன்றாரியோ மாகாணத்தில் உள்ள முது தமிழர்சங்கத்தில் நடப்பு வருடத்தில் பணம் செலுத்திய அங்கத்தவர்களாகவும், சேரும்போது யாதும் இறுதி நோய்கள் (Terminal Illness)) அற்றவர்க்களும் வரையறுக்கப்பட்டதாக இருக்க வேண்டும். இதற்கேற்ப PSTBAயில் அங்கத்தினராகச் சேர விரும்புவோரின்; அங்கத்துவம் அமையும். அவர்களுடைய அங்கத்தினருக்கான தகுதியை PSTBAயில் அங்கத்தினராகச் சேர விரும்புவோர், அங்கத்தினராக உள்ள குறிப்பிட்ட முதியோர் சங்கம், PSTBAயில் அங்கத்தினராக சேரும் விண்ணப்பத்திரத்தில் உறுதிபடுத்த வேண்டும். பீல் முதுதமிழர் சங்கத்திலும் ( STSP )மற்றைய ஒன்றாரியோவில் உள்ள தமிழ் முதியோர் சங்கங்களிலும் தொடர்ந்தும் அங்கத்தவர்களாக இருத்தல் வேண்டும்.
தம்பதிகள் ஒன்றாகச் சேர்ந்தால் என்ன சலுகை உண்டு ?
கணவனும் மனைவியும் ஒரே சமயத்தில் சங்கத்தில் அங்கத்தினர்களாக சேர்ந்தால் அவர்களில் ஒருவர் கொடுக்கும் இருவரின் ஆரம்பப் பணத்தொகையான C$480.00 தொகையில் C$120.00 சேமிப்பர் . ஆகவே அவர்கள் இருவரும் சேரும்போது $360.00 மட்டுமே செலுத்த வேண்டிவரும் . இந்த சலுகையானது அங்கத்தினர் எண்ணிக்கை 300 எட்டும் வரை மட்டுமே வழங்கப்படும் . சங்கத்தில் (3) மூன்று வருடங்களுக்கு மேல் அங்கத்தினர்களாக இருந்தவர்களுக்கு. .இறுதி பணத்தோடு C$100 சேர்த்துக் பயனாளிக்கு கொடுக்கப்படும்
ஒரு அங்கத்தினர் எவ்வளவு சந்தாப்பணமாக கட்டவேண்டும்?
அங்கத்தினர் ஒரு தடவை மட்டுமே C$ 240 கட்டவேண்டும். இத்தொகையை மாதம் C$ 20.00 வீதம் ஒரு வருடத்துக்கோ அல்லது முழுத்தொகையினை ஒருதடவையிலோ கட்டலாம். அங்கத்தினராகி ஒரு வருடத்துக்குப் பின்னரே, இறப்பின் பின்னர் சலுகை இறந்தவர் நியமித் பயனாளிக்கு கிடைக்கும். அதோடு ஒரு அங்கத்தினருக்கு மரணம் சம்பவித்தால், ஒவ்வொரு சஙக அங்கத்தினரும் மரண நல அழைப்பு பணம் C$ 20.00 அவசியம் கட்டவேண்டும். அங்கத்தினரிடம் இருந்து சேரும் இத்தொகையின் ஒரு 85 விகிதமே அங்கத்தினரின் மரணத்தின் பின் அவர் நியமித்த பயனாளிக்கு கொடுக்கப்படும்
ஒரு சங்க அங்கத்தினரின் மரணத்தின் பின் அவர் நியமித்த பயனாளிக்கு எவ்வளவு பணம் கிடைக்கும்?
சங்க அங்கத்தினர் எண்ணிக்கை 350 ஆனால் பயனாளிக்கு சுமார் 240 + (350x20) x0.85 = 6190 C$ கிடைக்கும் . இது சுமார் மரணச்செலவின் 62 விகிதம் ஆகும்.
எவ்விதத்தில் இது மரணச்செலவுக்கான காப்புறுதியை விடச் சிறந்தது?
OSTBAயின் நலந்புரி நிதியானது மரணக் காப்புறுதியை (Death Insuranace) விடச் சிறந்தது ஏனெனில்-
(a). மரண காப்புறுதியைப் போல் மாதாந்தம் கட்டும் பணத்தைப் போல் அல்லாது PSTBA நல நிதிக்கு ஒரு தடவை மட்டுமே C$240 கட்டவேண்டும். அதன் பின்னர், ஒரு அங்கத்தினர் மரணித்தால் மட்டுமே C$ 20 கட்ட வேண்டிவரும். ஒரு கிழமைக்குள் பயனாளிக்கு பணம் கிடைத்துவிடும். இந்தப் பணம் கிடைகும் நேரம் மரண காப்புறுதி பணத்தைப் வெகு தாதமாகலாம். அதோடு பணம் கிடைக்க முன்பு காப்புறுதியின் பல கேள்விகளுக்கு பதில் அளித்து, தேவையான பல பத்திரங்களை சமர்ப்பிக்க வேணடி வரும். சில சமயம் காப்புறுதி பணத்தை விட மாதம் மாதம் கட்டிய பணம் அதிகமாக இருக்கும்
(b)மரண காப்புறுதிககு கட்ட வேண்டிய மாதாந்த பணத்தை நீண்ட காலம் கட்டத் தவறினால் காப்புறுதி இல்லாமல் போய்விடும்.
(c) பயனாளிக்கு கிடைக்கும் தொகையானது PSTBA யில உள்ள அங்கத்தினர் எண்ணிக்கையை பொறுத்ததது. அங்கத்தினர்களின் எண்ணிக்கை அதிகரிக்கும் போது பயனாளிக்கு கிடைக்கும் தொகையும் அதிகரிக்கும், ஆகையினால் அங்கத்தினர்கள் நண்பர்களையும், உறவினர்களையும் OSTBA யில் அங்கத்தினராகச் சேரும்படி ஊக்குவியுங்கள்.
எல்லா சங்க அகத்தினரும் ஆளுக்கு ஒரு புது அங்கத்தினரை சங்கத்தில் சேர்த்து எங்கள் 350 இலக்கை அடைவதற்கு ஊக்குவிக்குமாறு அனைத்து உறுப்பினர்களுக்கும் நாங்கள் வேண்டிக் கொள்கிறோம். இப்போது சங்க அங்கத்தினர் எண்ணிக்கை 251.

எவ்விதத்தில் இது மரணச்செலவுக்கான காப்புறுதியை விடச் சிறந்தது?
OSTBAயின் நலந்புரி நிதியானது மரணக் காப்புறுதியை (Death Insuranace) விடச் சிறந்தது ஏனெனில்-
(a). மரண காப்புறுதியைப் போல் மாதாந்தம் கட்டும் பணத்தைப் போல் அல்லாது PSTBA நல நிதிக்கு ஒரு தடவை மட்டுமே C$240 கட்டவேண்டும். அதன் பின்னர், ஒரு அங்கத்தினர் மரணித்தால் மட்டுமே C$ 20 கட்ட வேண்டிவரும். ஒரு கிழமைக்குள் பயனாளிக்கு பணம் கிடைத்துவிடும். இந்தப் பணம் கிடைகும் நேரம் மரண காப்புறுதி பணத்தைப் வெகு தாதமாகலாம். அதோடு பணம் கிடைக்க முன்பு காப்புறுதியின் பல கேள்விகளுக்கு பதில் அளித்து, தேவையான பல பத்திரங்களை சமர்ப்பிக்க வேணடி வரும். சில சமயம் காப்புறுதி பணத்தை விட மாதம் மாதம் கட்டிய பணம் அதிகமாக இருக்கும்
(b)மரண காப்புறுதிககு கட்ட வேண்டிய மாதாந்த பணத்தை நீண்ட காலம் கட்டத் தவறினால் காப்புறுதி இல்லாமல் போய்விடும்.
(c) பயனாளிக்கு கிடைக்கும் தொகையானது PSTBA யில உள்ள அங்கத்தினர் எண்ணிக்கையை பொறுத்ததது. அங்கத்தினர்களின் எண்ணிக்கை அதிகரிக்கும் போது பயனாளிக்கு கிடைக்கும் தொகையும் அதிகரிக்கும், ஆகையினால் அங்கத்தினர்கள் நண்பர்களையும், உறவினர்களையும் OSTBA யில் அங்கத்தினராகச் சேரும்படி ஊக்குவியுங்கள்.
